In an effort to beat COVID-19, Chinese-developed vaccines have already made their way abroad. Chinese manufacturers have struck deals to supply 400 million vaccine doses to countries around the world, despite having not yet released final-stage, or so-called phase three test results.
Nations like Mexico, Turkey and Morocco have signed agreements with manufacturers Sinovac, Sinopharm and CanSino Biologics.
Indonesia has ordered 125 million doses.
Brazil has partnered with Beijing-based pharmaceutical company Sinovac, and is expected soon to announce the effectiveness of its phase three trials.
Beijing has dismissed concerns about quality, saying its simply doing its part to ensure developing nations have access to a COVID19 vaccine – but experts say it has other motives.
