Protecting peace: New hopes of resolving Northern Ireland dispute

Hopes are growing that a deal might soon be done, to resolve the bitter dispute over the Northern Ireland Protocol, the post-Brexit trading rules for Northern Ireland and the rest of the UK.
Irish and British leaders are meeting later this week, with the Irish suggesting that an agreement might be reached before the end of the year.
It is not just customs arrangements at stake.
The dispute has cast doubt on the very foundation of peace in Northern Ireland.

Al Jazeera’s Rory Challands reports from Belfast, Northern Ireland.
