US tightens security before Joe Biden’s inauguration

Washington, DC is almost closed off, with unprecedented security before the inauguration of President-elect Joe Biden.
A military ”green zone” has been established and 25,000 National Guard troops are being deployed.
Defence officials have told The Associated Press news agency they fear possible inside attack at the inauguration, and will have National Guard troops vetted.
Roads around the Capitol building have been blocked with barricades and metal fences.
There are fears of more violence by supporters of outgoing president Donald Trump following an insurrection there that left five people dead.
US state capitols have also increased security in advance of the inauguration.

Al Jazeera’s John Hendren reports on the extraordinary levels of security, from Washington, DC.
